Jul 1, 2020

Silver Eagle Beverages, one of the nation’s largest Anheuser-Busch wholesalers, today announced a partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank and South Texas Food Bank to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking through Anheuser-Busch’s Family Talk About Drinking campaign. The program provides resources to help facilitate the conversation around underage drinking and is designed to help parents discuss the topic with children of all ages.

As part of the awareness effort, Silver Eagle Beverages has delivered more than 24,000 Family Talk About Drinking program brochures in both English and Spanish to the San Antonio Food Bank and the South Texas Food Bank for their upcoming food distributions. The San Antonio Food Bank and the South Texas Food Bank reach an area that includes the 13 counties within Silver Eagle Beverages’ distribution territory which includes Atascosa, Bexar, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Kinney, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Wilson, and Zavala Counties.

“Silver Eagle Beverages is proud to partner with the San Antonio Food Bank and the South Texas Food Bank to bring this important resource to the communities we serve. We understand talking about underage drinking isn’t always easy, so this program is meant to facilitate and coach parents on the most effective way to have these important conversations,” said John L. Nau III, Chairman and CEO of Silver Eagle Beverages.

“For many families in our community, the issue of underage drinking is as important as food insecurity. We’re proud to be partnering with Silver Eagle Beverages to help these families have the tools to discuss this difficult topic in their homes,” said Eric Cooper, President and CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank.

Since the launch of their first responsible drinking campaign more than 35 years ago, Anheuser- Busch and its wholesaler partners have invested more than $1 billion to national advertising and community-based programs to prevent underage drinking and drunk driving.
